Ellie Noir is an artist based in Adelaide.

Artist Statement:  'Dust and Pollen', HSG April 2016
"My recent work ‘Dust and Pollen’ is focused upon a meditation on life – movement as life; movement through life. As such, this work is inspired by my surroundings – the people, the places and the light. These works span the last couple of years, depicting friends and fellow artists, over three continents. I am particularly interested in creating a sense of presence within the work – both the presence of the subject and the presence of the artist as observer.

All life is made of dust, and pollen is that seed from which life begins. Flowers are woven through the works, reinforcing a sense of life, decay and rebirth: patterned fabric and old floral wallpaper; clusters of spring roses and decaying thistles."   Ellie Noir, November 2015

To see a World in a Grain of Sand

And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,

Hold infinity in the palm of your hand

And Eternity in an hour.

-William Blake, ‘Auguries of Innocence’
